Property Tester 1.0 is a tool to help diagnose problems writing metadata properties. It has been significantly revised compared to the beta version to simplify its usage and capture more error cases.
To run it, download the zip file, and extract all of the contents (three executables) to a folder of your choice. Then run PropertyTester.exe. This will bring up a dialog with three buttons.
It differs from Explorer it is not necessary to use Association Manager to configure an extension before using it, although the last step of the test is in fact to report whether the extension has been configured or not.

- Test will allocate a temporary file and attempt to set a meta data property on it. Diagnostic results are shown in the main pane.
- Set Target allows you to specify a target file to use instead of a temporary file the next time Test is clicked.
- Save Results saves the results of a test run to a text file, ready for submission to a File Meta thread.
